$ C{{H}_{3}}-\overset{\begin{smallmatrix} O \\ |\,| \end{smallmatrix}}{\mathop{C}}\,-O-{{C}_{2}}{{H}_{5}}+\underset{(excess)}{\mathop{{{C}_{2}}{{H}_{5}}MgBr}}\,\xrightarrow{{}} $ $ C{{H}_{3}}-\underset{\begin{smallmatrix} | \\ {{C}_{2}}{{H}_{5}} \end{smallmatrix}}{\overset{\begin{smallmatrix} {{C}_{2}}{{H}_{5}} \\ | \end{smallmatrix}}{\mathop{C}}}\,-OH $ When esters react with excess of Grignard reagent, $ 3{}^\circ $ alcohol is formed.
