Solution:

$C$ - $Cl$ bond is more ionic than $C - I$ bond because of the greater difference in electronegativities of $C$ and $C l$ as compared to that of carbon and iodine. Therefore, $C - Cl$ bond is stronger than $C - I$ bond.
