Q. By increasing the temperature of a liquid its

Thermal Properties of Matter

Solution:

When we heat the liquid volume increases.
Let the initial volume be V.
If temperature is increase then the new volume $V _{1}= V + V \alpha \Delta T$
So $V _{1}> V$
$
\rho=\frac{m}{V}
$
Since mass remains the same, so increase in volume will decrease the density.
$
\rho_{1}=\frac{ m }{ V _{1}}
$
$
\rho_{1}<\rho
