The given structure is the most stable form of Boron nitride also known as $h - BN$. the structure of $h - BN$ has a layered structure similar to graphite. $h - BN$ and graphite are very close neighbors and even the $BC _{6} N$ hybrids have been synthesized where carbon substitutes for some B and N atoms. The $h - BN$ is also known as inorganic graphite.
