Solution:
Book lungs are respiratory organs in scorpions and spiders (Arachnida). They are named so because their folds resemble the leaves in. a book. The exchange of gases takes place between the air of interlamellar spaces and venous blood through the thin membranous walls of lamellae. The Pita (Mollusca) has a large pulmonary sac which is modification of the mantle. The wall of the pulmonary sac contains blood vessels and sinuses whose blood take up oxygen of the air and gives out carbon dioxide. In Annelida (earthworm) special respiratory organs are lacking. The gaseous exchange takes place by the body wall hence, it is called cutaneous respiration. Respiration in reptils, birds and mammals is through lungs. Lungs are two pinkish coloured small eneiastic solid and spongy.
