Man has mainly 4 types of blood groups $'A''B' AB'$ or ' $O 'A '$ blood group has $A$ antigens and $b$ antibody, $'B'$ has $B$ antigens and a antibody, $'A B '$ has no antibodies but $A B$ antigens while blood group ' $O '$ has no antigens but ' $a$ and $b$ ' antibodies. This makes ' $AB'$ a universal acceptor and ' $O$ ' a universal donor.
