AMUAMU 2003
Solution:
Binomial nomenclature means that the name of specis is composed of two words in Latin. The first word is generic name, while the second word is specific name. The generic and specific name are followed by the name of the taxonomist who first described the species or gave its present name. This system was developed by Kaspar Bauhin $(1623)$ but was enlarged by Linnaeus. He published this system in his book ''Species plantarum'' $(1753)$. This book includes description of about $5,900$ species of plant and $4000$ species of animals.
