Q. Benzene does not undergo addition reaction easily because :

Solution:

Benzene is an aromatic compound. It is cyclic planar, conjugated system containing $ (4n+2)\pi e^{-} $ which are delocalised. Due to this delocalization of $ \pi e^{-} $ (resonance) benzene possess a high degree of stability and does not readily undergo addition reaction.
