Q. Benzene and aniline can be separated from their mixture by (1) distillation (2) vacuum distillation (3) dil. $ HCl $ (4) dil. $ NaOH $

BHUBHU 2011

Solution:

Benzene and aniline can be separated by distillation (b.P. of benzene
$=80{}^\circ C $ and b.P. of aniline
$=181{}^\circ C $ ). They can also be separated by dil. $ HCl $ because aniline dissolves in $ HCl $ but benzene does not.
