Q. Based on data given below for the electrode potential, reducing power of $Fe^{2 +},Al$ and $Br^{-}$ will increase in the order

$Br_{2}\left(\right.aq\left.\right)+2e^{-} \rightarrow 2Br^{-}\left(\right.aq\left.\right);E^{o}=+1.08V$

$Al^{3 +}\left(\right.aq\left.\right)+3e^{-} \rightarrow Al\left(\right.s\left.\right);E^{o}=-1.66V$

$Fe^{3 +}\left(\right.aq\left.\right)+e^{-} \rightarrow Fe^{+ 2}\left(\right.aq\left.\right);E^{o}=+0.77V$

Solution:

Reducing power, i.e. the tendency to lose electrons increases as the reduction potential decreases.
