Solution:

The structure of axis vertebra is specialized to serve as a pivot to rotate the skull around. It has all parts except prezygapophyses. The transverse processes are small and flattened, but have the vertebra arterial canals. The centrum frontally bears a conspicous, stub like odontoid process.
