Q. Atomic radii of fluorine and neon $(\mathring{A} )$ respectively are given as

Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties

Solution:

Florine has 5 electrons in 2p orbital which is less than what is required for ideal configuration inert gas configuration. Hence nuclear charge is high leading smaller size than the next inert gas neon. Hence atomic radius of fluorine and neon are 0.75 angstrom and 1.6 angstrom.
