Q. At which cell layer, water movement through the apoplast pathway is restricted and is facilitated towards symplast pathway?

Transport in Plants

Solution:

Apoplastic movement of water occurs exclusively through the cell wall and intercellular spaces, without crossing any membrane. It is continuous throughout the plant, except at the band of suberised matrix called casparian strips of the endodermis in the roots.
