Q. At the top of the trajectory of a projectile, the directions of its velocity and acceleration are :

Solution:

At the highest point of the trajectory of a projectile, only the horizontal component of velocity exists while vertical component is zero. Also, acceleration due to gravity acts vertically downwards, hence at the top of the trajectory of a projectile, the direction of its velocity and acceleration are perpendicular to each other.
