Q. At the maximum height of a body thrown vertically up

Motion in a Straight Line

Solution:

At the maximum height reached, the body comes to rest and thus its velocity becomes zero while the acceleration due to gravity ($g=9.8\, m/s^2$ ) acting on it continues to act in downward direction and tries to bring the body back to the ground. Thus at maximum height, the acceleration of the body is non-zero but its velocity is zero.
