Q. Assertion : White phosphorus is more reactive than red phosphorus.
Reason : It readily catches fire in air to give dense white fumes of $P_4O_{10}$.

The p-Block Elements - Part2

Solution:

White phosphorus is less stable and more reactive than red phosphorus because of angular strain in the $P_4$ molecule where the angles are only $60^{\circ}$.
