Q. Assertion : Viscosity of liquids decreases as the temperature rises.
Reason: At high temperature, molecules have high kinetic energy and can overcome the intermolecular forces to flow faster.

States of Matter

Solution:

When the liquid is heated the viscosity of liquid decreases. As temperature increases, there is an increase in molecular interchange as the molecules speed increases with rising in temperature. At high temperature, molecules posses high kinetic energy and thus it can overcome the intermolecular forces to flow faster.
