Q. Assertion : Torque on a body can be zero event if there is a net forces on it.
Reason : Torque and force on a body are always perpendicular.

AIIMSAIIMS 2018System of Particles and Rotational Motion

Solution:

$
\overrightarrow{ T }=\overrightarrow{ r } \times \overrightarrow{ F }
$
Torque is always perpendicular to radius vector and Force vector.
If only one force is acting on body and we calculate torque about the point of action of force the torque is zero
$
\begin{array}{c}
\Rightarrow \text { when } \gamma=0, \overrightarrow{ F } \neq 0 \\
\overrightarrow{ T }=0
\end{array}
