Q. Assertion : Thermodynamic process in nature are irreversible.
Reason : Dissipative effects cannot be eliminated

AIIMSAIIMS 2004Thermodynamics

Solution:

The thermodynamic process is irreversible, as there always occurs a loss of energy due to energy spent in working against the dissipative force which is not recovered back. Other irreversible process also occurs in nature such as friction where extra work is required to cancel out the effect of friction.
