Q. Assertion : The equilibrium constant for the reverse reaction is equal to the inverse of the equilibrium constant for the forward reaction.
Reason : The value of equilibrium constant is independent of initial concentrations of the reactants and products.

Equilibrium

Solution:

For the reaction : $aA +bB \rightleftharpoons cC +dD$
$K_{c}=\frac{\left[C\right]^{c}\left[D\right]^{d}}{\left[A\right]^{a}\left[B\right]^{b}}$
For reverse reaction : $cC +dD \rightleftharpoons aA +bB$
$K'_{c}=\frac{\left[A\right]^{a}\left[B\right]^{b}}{\left[C\right]^{c}\left[D\right]^{d}}=\frac{1}{K_{c}}$
