Q. Assertion: Orbit and orbital are synonymous.
Reason : $A$ circular path around the nucleus in which an electron moves is called orbit or orbital.

Structure of Atom

Solution:

Concept of an orbit was given by Bohr. Orbit is defined as a circular path of fixed radius and energy around the nucleus in which an electron moves. Orbital was given by quantum mechanical model where it is defined as the region (three-dimensional space) around the nucleus where probability of finding the electron is maximum.
Thus the two terms are not synonymous.
Both Assertion and Reason are incorrect.
