Q. Assertion $NH _{3}$ is liquified more easily than $CO _{2}$.
Reason Critical temperature of $NH _{3}$ is more than $CO _{2}$.

Thermal Properties of Matter

Solution:

A gas can be liquified by applying pressure only when it is cooled below the critical temperature.
Critical temperature of $NH _{3}$ is more than $CO _{2}$,
i.e.$T_{ NH _{3}}=405 \,K$
and $ T_{ CO _{2}}=304.1 \,K .$
Hence, $NH _{3}$ is liquified more easily than $CO _{2}$.
Therefore, Assertion and Reason are correct and Reason is the correct explanation of Assertion.
