Auerbach’s plexus is a network of nerve cell and parasympathetic nerve fibre present in the muscularis layer of wall of alimentary canal. It controls peristalsis. On the other hand, Meissner’s plexus is a network of nerve cells and sympathetic nerve fibre present in the submucosa layer of wall of alimentary canal. It controls the secretion of intestinal juice.
