Q. Assertion: At room temperature water does not sublimate from ice to steam.
Reason: The critical point of water is much above the room temperature.

AIIMSAIIMS 1994Thermal Properties of Matter

Solution:

We cannot get steam directly from ice. There is one intermediate state called water whose temperature has to be raised to $100^{\circ} C$ before we can get steam. Critical point is that temperature at which a gas can be liquefied by applying pressure. So, water cannot have a critical point.
