Q. Assertion Alkynes are more reactive towards nucleophilic addition reaction as compared to alkenes.
Reason Alkynes contain two pi bonds, while alkenes have only one bond.

Although there are more $\pi$ electrons associated with the triple bond, the $s p$ hybridised carbon exert a strong attraction for these $\pi$ electrons which are consequently bound more tightly to the functional group than are the $\pi$ electrons of a double bond. Hence, a nucleophile attack more readily on triple bonded carbon atom.
