Q. Assertion (A) : The relation $R$ given by
$R = \{(1,3), (4,2), (2,4), (2,3), (3,1)\}$ on a set
$A = \{1,2, 3,4\}$ is not symmetric.
Reason (R) : For symmetric relation $R = R^{-1}$

Relations and Functions - Part 2

Solution:

$R = \{(1,3), (4,2), (2,4), (2,3), (3,1)\}$
as $(2, 3) \in R$ but $(3,2) \notin R$
$\Rightarrow R$ is not symmetric.
