Q. Assertion (A) Protonephridia or Flame cells in flatworms help in osmoregulation.
Reason (R) These are excretory organs.

Excretory Products and their Elimination

Solution:

Both Assertion and Reason are true, but Reason is not the correct explanation of Assertion.
Protonephridia or Flame cells are the excretory structures in Platyhelminthes (flatworms, e.g. Planaria). These are also concerned with ionic and fluid volume regulation, i.e. osmoregulation in these animals.
