Solution:

The human eye has the capacity to suitably adjust the focal length of the eye and is done with the help of the cilliary muscles. These muscles get relaxed when we see an object at a distance. And they get strained when we view close by. But these muscles cannot get strained more than a certain limit and that’s why we cannot see an object clearer if it is closer than a certain minimum distance from the eye known as the ‘least distance for clear vision’.
