Q. Assertion (A) Both vapour pressure and boiling point depends on surface area of the liquid.
Reason (R) Higher the surface area, lower be the boiling point whereas higher will be the vapour pressure.

AIIMSAIIMS 2017

Solution:

Both vapour pressure and boiling point are independent of surface area. Vapour pressure is the pressure exerted by the vapours of the liquid on its own surface, when it is in equilibrium with its liquid at given temperature whereas boiling point is the temperature at which vapour pressure becomes equal to the external pressure (for a given liquid).
