Q. Assertion (A): All the rain drops hit the Surface of the earth with the same constant velocity.
Reason (R) : An object falling through a viscous medium eventually attains a terminal velocity.

Chhattisgarh PMTChhattisgarh PMT 2009

Solution:

All the rain drops hit the surface of the earth with the same constant velocity because when a spherical body of radius r is dropped in a viscous fluid, it is first accelerated and then is acceleration becomes zero and it attains a constant velocity called terminal velocity.
