Q. Assertion $:|3 x-5| > 9 \Rightarrow x \in\left(-\infty, \frac{-4}{3}\right) \cup\left(\frac{14}{3}, \infty\right)$
Reason : The region containing all the solutions of an inequality is called the solution region.

Linear Inequalities

Solution:

We have, $|3 x-5| > 9$
$\Rightarrow 3 x-5 < -9$ or $3 x-5 > 9$
$\Rightarrow 3 x < -4$ or $3 x > 14$
$\Rightarrow x < \frac{-4}{3}$ or $x > \frac{14}{3}$
$\therefore x \in\left(-\infty, \frac{-4}{3}\right) \cup\left(\frac{14}{3}, \infty\right) .$
