Q. Assertion : $1\, M$ solution of $KCl$ has greater osmotic pressure than $1 \,M$ solution of glucose at the same temperature.
Reason : In solution $KCl$ dissociates to produce more number of particles.

Solutions

Solution:

$0.1\,M$ solution of $KCl$ has greater osmotic pressure than $0.1\,M$ solution of glucose at same temperature.
$\pi= iCRT$
$KCl \rightarrow K ^{+}+ Cl ^{-}$
So, i for $KCl =2$
For glucose $=1$
As $KCl$ electrolyte, it dissosciate into ions $K ^{+}$and $Cl ^{-}$while glucose not, decompose as it is organic solute. So, $i =1$.
