using energy conservation
$\frac{1}{2} mv ^2 \times 2=\frac{1}{2} kx ^2$
$\Rightarrow \frac{1}{4} v ^2=\frac{1}{2} \times 2 \times x ^2$
$\therefore x =\frac{ v }{2}$
