Q. An open vessel at $27^{\circ} C$ is heated until $1 / 5^{\text {th }}$ part of the air in it has been expelled. If the volume of the container remains constant, what should be the temperature to which the vessel has been heated?

Solution:

$n _{1} T _{1}= n _{2} T _{2}$

$\Rightarrow 1 \times 300=\left(1-\frac{1}{5}\right) \times T _{2}$

$\therefore T _{2}=\frac{300 \times 5}{4}=375 K$
