$\frac{1}{ V }-\frac{1}{ U }=\frac{1}{- f } $
$\Rightarrow \frac{1}{ V }=-\frac{2}{ f }$
$V =\frac{- f }{2}$
$m =\frac{ V }{ U }=\frac{1}{2}$
distance $=\frac{ f }{2}$
