Q. An electron of charge $e$ is moving in a circular orbit of radius $r$ around a nucleus, at a frequency $\upsilon$ . The magnetic moment associated with the orbital motion of the electron is

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2022

Solution:

The equivalent current due to the motion of the electron is
$i=e\upsilon$
So, the magnetic moment will be
$M=i\times \pi r^{2}=\pi e\upsilon r^{2}$
