Q. An electron having charge $e$ and mass $m$ is moving in a uniform electric field $E$. Its acceleration will be

Electric Charges and Fields

Solution:

When charge $q$ is moving in uniform electric field $E$, then its acceleration $a=\frac{q E}{m}$ (constant). Hence, acceleration of an electron is $a=\frac{F}{m}=\frac{e E}{m}$.
