Q. An $AC$ voltage source has an output of $\Delta V=\left(200\,V\right) \sin\,2\pi ft$. This source is connected to a $100\,\Omega$ resistor. $RMS$ current in the resistance is

AFMCAFMC 2012

Solution:

RMS current in the resistance
$I_{0} =\frac{V_{0}}{R}=\frac{200}{100}=2\, A$
$I_{ rms } =\frac{I_{0}}{\sqrt{2}}=1.414\, A$
