Q. Among the given carbonates / bicarbonates, find the value of $\left(x + y + z\right)$
$\left(KHCO\right)_{3},\left(NaHCO\right)_{3},\left(CaCO\right)_{3},Ca\left(HCO_{3}\right)_{2},K_{2}\left(CO\right)_{3}$ and $Mg\left(HCO_{3}\right)_{2}$
no. of compounds almost insoluble in water $=x$
no. of compound which liberate $CO_{2}$ on reaction with $HCl=z$
no. of compounds that easily undergo thermal decomposition $=y$

Solution:

$x=1$ (i.e. $CaCO_{3}$ )
$y=5$ (all except carbonate of Potassium easily undergo decomposition)
$z=6$ (all liberate $CO_{2}$ with mineral acid)
$x+y+z=1+5+6=12$
