Q. Ammoniogenesis is process of:

ManipalManipal 2003

Solution:

The exchange of $Na ^{+}$for $NH _{3}$ is called ammoniogenesis. Kidney tubules excrete ammonia which tend to retain $Na ^{+}$in body. Ammonia formation is proportional to $H ^{+}$ions secretion in renal tubules. The $NH _{3}$ combins with $H ^{+}$which are excreted as ammonium salts in urine.
