Solution:

Aldehydes are strong oxidising agents they oxidise Tollen's reagent (ammoniacal $AgNO _{3}$ to $Ag$ ), Fehling solution (to $Cu _{2} O$ ) and Benedict solution to $Cu _{2} O$. The reactions are used to detect presence of aldehyde group in compound.
