Solution:

Strand of a structural gene that does not transcribe mRNA is called a coding strand and the strand which transcribe mRNA is called a template strand. The coding strand has polarity 5' to 3' and its sequence is similar to that of mRNA synthesised by template strand, except uracil is present in place of thymine.
