Q. After taking a long deep breath we do not respire for some seconds due to

BHUBHU 2005Breathing and Exchange of Gases

Solution:

Deep breathing helps expand the lungs and forces better distribution of the air into all sections of the lung. When we breathe fully and deeply, the diaphragm moves farther down into the abdomen and our lungs are able to expand more completely into the chest cavity. This means that more oxygen is taken in and more carbon dioxide is released with each breath. Therefore, after taking a long deep breath, we do not respire for some seconds due to less $CO_2$ in blood
