Q. According to VSEPR theory the most probable shape of the molecule having $4$ electron pairs in the outer shell of the central atom is

Chhattisgarh PMTChhattisgarh PMT 2005

Solution:

According to VSPER theory, molecular shape depend not only on the number of pairs of electron with the central atom also on the fact as to how many of these are bond pairs and how many lone pair. When a molecule with four pair of electron with its central atom and have no lone pair, will be tetrahedral.
