Solution:
Given equation is
$y=a \sin (0.01 x-2 t) \ldots$(1)
The standard equation is
$y=a \sin (k x-\omega t)$
Comparing equations (1) and (2), we get
$k=0.01$ and $\omega=2$
From the formula, velocity. is
$v=\frac{\omega}{k}=\frac{2}{0.01}=200 \,m / s$
