Q. A spring balance $A$ and a beam balance $B$ are used to weigh the same object at a place on the equator and a place on the pole of the earth. Then

Solution:

Spring balance measures spring force hence readings of A will be different as g at equator is smaller than g at pole.
Beam balance measures torque hence B will be affected equally due to variation of g at two places.
So readings of B will be same.
