Q. A source of light is placed at a distance of $50 \,cm$ from a photo cell and the stopping potential is found to be $V_0. $ If the distance between the light source and photo cell is made $25 \,cm$, the new stopping potential will be :

NEETNEET 2013Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter

Solution:

By changing the position of source of light from photocell, there will be a change in the intensity of light falling on photocell.
As stopping potential is independent of the intensity of the incident light, hence stopping potential remains same i.e., $V_0. $
