Human males contain 44 autosomes and a pair of sex chromosomes having one X and one Y chromosome. Genes located on the X and Y chromosomes are called sex-linked genes. Genes present on the X chromosome are called X linked genes and genes present on the Y chromosome are called Y linked genes. Male is hemizygous for both X linked and Y linked genes.
