Q. A solute 'A' undergoes association in a medium as

The degree of association is $'\alpha '$ , then van't Hoff factor may be give as

Solution:

In case of association, $\alpha $ and i can be related as follows

$\alpha =\frac{1 - i}{1 - \frac{1}{n}}$

So $i=\frac{1 - \alpha + \frac{\alpha }{n}}{1}$
