At $\theta=45^{\circ}, mg \sin \theta=1 \times \cos \theta$
At $\theta>45^{\circ}, mg \sin \theta>1 \times \cos \theta$ (friction acts upward)
At $\theta<45^{\circ}, mg \sin \theta<1 \times \cos \theta$ (friction acts downward)
